Made in Salmon Arm, British Columbia
Wildfire protection, built from firsthand experience.
Wildfire Equipment creates practical structure-protection equipment for homeowners, community groups and professional crews—including the patented Water Winger no-ladder rooftop wildfire sprinkler.
Our origin
A safer way to reach the roof peak
The idea began as wildfire smoke and ash moved toward Bryan Coffey’s cedar log home. Repeatedly climbing a long ladder onto a steep metal roof to place garden sprinklers made one thing clear: homeowners needed a safer, faster way to position a sprinkler on the roof peak.
That urgent problem became the Water Winger—a ground-deployed rooftop sprinkler designed to help create a wet zone where homes are most exposed to wind-driven embers.
From problem to proven design
Refined for practical wildfire preparation
Years of prototyping, testing and customer feedback shaped equipment designed for fast deployment, reliable storage and repeated use.
Field informed
Guidance from wildfire-experienced homeowners, engineers and firefighters helped shape the design.
Purpose built
The deployment system positions a rooftop sprinkler without requiring a person to climb onto a steep roof.
Built for readiness
Durable, serviceable equipment is organized to be stored, practised with and deployed when conditions change.
Experience and collaboration
Built with valuable field guidance
We gratefully acknowledge Jake Jacobson and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Structure Protection Crews for their guidance, feedback and early prototype testing.
What drives us
