How it Began
The Water Winger was born from a moment of danger and frustration. As ash drifted in from a nearby wildfire, Bryan Coffey, the inventor of the Water Winger No-Ladder Rooftop Wildfire Sprinkler, found himself repeatedly climbing a long ladder up to a steep, two-story roof to try to connect hoses and secure garden sprinklers onto the metal peak where they would best soak the most ground around the cabin and the roof.
But many thoughts came as he was shimmying along that burning hot, steep, tin roof peak with tools, 2×4’s and sprinklers in tow, rushing and desperate on that scorching day in August to save his cabin. As the smoke thickened and the sky turned a dark orange grey, alone, high up on that roof, it became very clear that there has to be a better, safer, faster way to get proper sprinklers onto roof peaks to protect our homes from these ever increasing wildfires. Challenge accepted.
From Problem to Innovation
With input from wildfire-experienced homeowners, engineers, and firefighters, we developed and refined many prototypes until the design finally met our required standards of safety, efficiency and performance. Today, the popular Water Winger is in use across Canada and the United States, helping homeowners and professionals to safely protect more homes and properties each wildfire season.
