Community Groups
Putting sprinklers onto roofs when wildfires approach
could be an important part of your community protection plan,
Water Wingers are the safest, fastest way to do it.
Structures have been successfully protected using sprinklers for many years.
Often just one long-throw Water Winger per structure can be used,
because it is the only sprinkler that can be safely put right in the middle of a roof without walking on the roof or using a ladder.
This means:
- You won’t need to set up so many sprinklers.
- You’ll use fewer hoses and and fittings for simpler system set ups.
- You wont use as much water.
- You won’t have to cover vents or chimneys using peak mounted Wingers
You can run a lot of sprinklers, and protect a lot of properties pumping from rivers,
lakes, swimming pools, wells, ponds, man-made reservoirs, water trucks, tanks and bladders, etc.
Keep people safer, protect more structures
Water Wingers will prove to be a valuable part of your structure protection inventory.
- Easy to use.
- Trained firefighters are not required.
- Eliminate ladder and rooftop accidents.
- Community members can deploy Water Wingers safely.
- Rapid removal and redeployment as the wildfire shifts.
- Save time and labour.
- Deploy with 1 or 2 people onto most roofs in a matter of a few minutes.
- Smooth stainless steel skis are used so they slide safely onto tents and greenhouses without snagging.
- No holes in roofs or soffits.
- No tools required to secure them.
- Lines are easily detachable for traditional installations and use on the ground.
You will use Water Wingers on:
1 & 2 story homes.
Tall, steep roofs
A-frames
Quonset huts
Fabric covered buildings
Greenhouses
Log and soft material piles
Above ground fuel tanks
Industrial equipment
Aircraft
And they remain upright on the ground in places where spike sprinklers aren’t a dependable option.
- Won’t get waterlogged and fall over.
- Stable on sand, mud, rock, soft ground, hard ground, steep hillsides and pavement
- Adjustable mast angle for more placement options.
- Wingers on the ground can be retrieved from a distance by pulling them back by the hose in risky situations.
A 50′ radius @ 50 PSI @ 7-9 GPM is typical.
See 2 Wingers on a 2 story home.
They come with a 100′ standard line set for 1 and 2 story size buildings.
If you can get the ball and line over it, you can likely pull a Water Winger onto it to protect it.
Drones are a great way to get lines over roofs. As are fishing rods, tennis racquets, potato guns etc.
To launch balls over 150′, we use a ball chucker with a fishing reel attached to make it easier.
You can make long distance chuckers yourself or get them from us.
It’s a good idea to have longer line sets on hand.
125′ and 150′ line sets are available for large barns, hangers, etc.
We can help you put together an emergency structure protection package that suits your needs.
